Bio
Cansu Aydemir is an Associate Lawyer at Green and Spiegel LLP in Toronto. Cansu assists individual and corporate clients with all aspects of immigration law in Canada, including business and visitor visa applications, work permits and work permit exemptions, work permit extensions, electronic travel authorizations, as well as applications for citizenship and permanent residence.
Cansu helps her clients with admissibility matters, specifically in criminal and medical inadmissibility issues, misrepresentation findings, procedural fairness letter responses, and applications for criminal rehabilitation and temporary resident permits. She represents clients with litigation matters including judicial review of negative decisions, mandamus applications for delayed decisions at the Federal Court of Canada, and she also assists clients with spousal sponsorship appeals and residency obligation issues.
Cansu is a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. She was called to the Ontario Bar after completing her articling at Green and Spiegel LLP.
Cansu graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to law school, Cansu worked as an international news reporter for Turkish state television. Cansu holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Diaspora and Transnational Studies from the University of Toronto where she graduated with High Distinction.
